Ten Things Girls Wish Guys Knew

Ten Things Girls Wish Guys Knew

I ran into some article in which some girls listed things the wished guys knew about girls. Funny, sure, but not quite on target about everything. Anyway, it got me thinking about some things that I think girls need guys to know about them.

1.  Even if guys say they like girls better dressed down with no makeup, wearing makeup and dressing up makes girls feel pretty and boosts their confidence, so at least reward the hard work girls do to make themselves look good by telling them so.

2.  Girls don’t like it when guys fart. Especially if guys do it in bed, or while girls’re eating.  Gross, not funny… and guys’re wasting their time thinking that girls’ll ever “learn to love them.”

3.  Girls know guys’re hot, that’s one of the reasons girls’re dating them.  But that doesn’t mean guys have to act like they  know how hot they are by constantly walking around shirtless, flexing your muscles, etc. Confidence is hot – cockiness is not.

4.  Don’t make fun of girls when they’re with their friends.  Funny in small doses, annoying when guys do it constantly.  Keep doing it and guys’ll pretty much guarantee themself no “goodies” for awhile.

5.  Those t-shirts with the giant designs on the front (or, worse, the button downs with the giant designs on the back) are not cute. They are douchey. Please don’t wear them. (Also on this list: sweatbands, sweatpants with the elastic in the bottom, slip on sandals and over-sized plastic sunglasses with giant designers names on the side.)

6.  Their friends are like a second family to them, so once guys’re in with them, guys’re set for life.  Even though girls know they’re loud and obnoxious sometimes, learn to love ‘em. Girls deal with your boys, so do the same for them.

7.  Holidays and anniversaries might not seem like a big deal to guys, but they are to girls.  Even if girls say they don’t want something for Valentine’s Day, they want something. It isn’t the “thing” girls care about; it is the fact that guys are thinking about girls. So think about them, dammit.

8.  Thongs are really uncomfortable. Guys may think they are the end all be all of sexy, but they hurt.

9.  There’s nothing girls hate more than being called crazy or dramatic.  No matter how much guys think girls overreact about their problems, they matter to them and girls need guys on their side to support them, rather than making them feel worse.

10.  If it’s possible that there is anything worse than calling girls crazy, it’s comparing them to other girls.  I know it’s a double standard that girls should be allowed to drool over any shirtless picture of a man in good body shape, while freaking out when guys make a comment about any female celeb in a bikini.  Guys might not realize it, but girls automatically compare themselves to every other girl on the planet, so saying another girl is hot makes them think they’re not good enough.

Crazy, maybe, but I’m just being honest.
